Remarkable Women At The Forefront of Luxury Real Estate
Real estate was once a very male-dominated industry but things have taken quite a turn over the years. There has been a rise in the number of women doing remarkable work and closing huge sales in this industry.
In 2020 and 2021, there was a huge increase in the uptake of luxury real estate services in the US. The high demand caused the prices to shoot upwards. The shift to luxury real estate was driven by some people's need to have their homes as safe spaces, especially when the pandemic hit.
Here are some of the women who are at the forefront of luxury real estate.
Ila Corcoran
Ila's real estate career started off after her family experienced foreclosure. Over time, her path in real estate has taken many forms but she began in apartment management and leasing. Real estate was a path that she chose to explore because also she wanted to secure housing and develop career capital that would propel her into the opportunities systematically unavailable to her community.
Ila found her passion working within the residential industry after spending time briefly in the commercial real estate space. She saw potential to help people create security through housing and homeownership. For 2 years, she worked closely with homeowners and real estate professionals in order to help them maximize their investments and avoid the threats of discount buyers and/or foreclosure. In 2021 alone, she led a team to close more than $80m in transaction volume across numerous states.
During her free time, she enjoys serving apartment communities across Los Angeles as well as non-profit housing spaces dedicated to those experiencing homelessness.
In 2022 she has re-opened her schedule to new clients who are interested in working on their real estate needs and or financial goals. She is of the belief system that financial/housing security is a right that all people are deserving of.
Taylor Sledge
Taylor is a real estate agent who specializes in the Southern California housing market. She took an interest in real estate during grade school where she would spend weekends with her stepfather exploring the beautiful homes in the opulent neighborhoods of Long Beach, like Bixby Knolls.
She obtained her Real Estate License during her final year of undergrad at California State University of Long Beach, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice .
In order to expand her knowledge base, Taylor is constantly researching and looking up new markets. This is so that she can effectively serve clients throughout all of Southern California at a high level.
Before joining Bay Street Capital Holdings, Taylor was the Chief of Staff of a boutique real estate investment firm and the Community Manager of Vector90, a co-working space in the Crenshaw District of South Los Angeles.
During her spare time, she enjoys roller skating, spending time with family and keeping up with the latest binge worthy series.
Bronwyn Leigh Jones
Bronwyn Leigh Jones is the founder and CEO of Coral Sustainable Services, LLC. The company facilitates introductions to customers and source capital (grants, equity, and debt capital) in the USA, Australia, Asia, India and Europe. What drives her as a luxury real estate advisor is the need to help her clients find the luxury homes of their dreams.
She started her journey in real estate in 2014 when she became a key advisor to the International WELL Building Institute. Aside from serving in global advisory capacities, she has also bought and sold property in The Caribbean.
